After the week I've had, I am looking for a completely silly escape of a DVD to rent tonight. I am thinking about THE JERK, but I am up for suggestions. I just want something completely mindless and funny. I have not seen THE JERK since it was on HBO for the first time many years ago. As I recall it had some slow parts, but was overall very funny.

I love the Jerk and it is mindless and funny. Good choice. I also like Young Frankenstien.

What about Steve Martin's ALL OF ME? I think it tanked at the box office, but was supposed to be funny. Has anyone seen it?

If you’re looking for Steve Martin movies, how about Three Amigos?

Meet the Fockers was great. I enjoyed Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. Umm, if you feel like going to the theatre (Alamo Draft House ehemm) go see Wedding Crashers or 40 Year Old Virgin. You can't go wrong with either.
Thanks. Not crazy about the Fockers series. Wedding Crashers sounds funny, but I think I'll stay in this evening. The Alamo, is badly named (for an Austin franchise), but a great theater. I've been going there from the start!

I can't think of the name of the movie but it has Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher in it. Ashton is dating Bernie's daughter...that was a pretty funny movie!

ALL OF ME was cute but I don't recall rolling with laughter. If you are looking for Steve Martin movies specifically I myself would choose "Parenthood" or "Cheaper by the Dozen".

If you want steve martin, try the man with 2 brains; planes, trains, and automobiles; or my blue heaven. All have classic steve martin routines that pre-date his Saturday Night Live gigs...stooopid funny

My wife did not want to watch THE JERK because she'd seen it before, so, being the kind husband that I am, I rented Anchorman.

Also, Bedazzled with Brendan Fraser, take off of Faust. (never thought I'd ever recommend a Brandan Fraser movie)
