I see that this forum is now titled as "PUBLIC." This makes sense, considering anyone can read here as I mentioned before. So does this mean that we'll get to have our own private forum, that can be seen only by bankers? It seems that we are too afraid to help each other in this forum because we cannot verify who is reading the information.
As I said before, it wouldn't be hard to verify - just have people use their work email addresses for registration...

Yes, we've set up a Private Security forum, accessible only to financial institution employees. If you can access our Private forum, you can access our Private Security forum.

Yes, how does one get access to the "private" forum?

One emails cindy@bankersonline.com and asks for private forum access, if one is a registered Threads user. In the email, include all of the following: - Your display name (as used on Threads)
- Your actual full name and title
- The name of your financial institution employer
- Your email address at that financial institution
- The url (address) of your financial institution's web site
- Your telephone number at the institution, in case we need to reach you
We will vet each request. We may contact your financial institution to verify your status there. Once we have completed our process, we will notify you that you have access to the Private fora.

What if your work email is accessible only via bank intranet, not the web? Is there a way to register for the private forum by providing the rest of the info, or am I out of luck?

I still have not been able to access the Private forum, even after e-mailing the address in the original e-mail sent out that announced the new forums. I'm set at Show All Forums. Is there something else that needs to be done?

The verification of banker information, BIP if you will, is a manual process and is not automated as was the registration for BankersOnline itself. It isn't automatic. And if you don't have a bank email, it is likely you will have a difficult time proving you are who you say you are without in-person verifications. We do not have a magic listing of every banks employees. Without using that bank email, it makes it tough.
There are restrictions and roadblocks in cyberspace too.

Will the notification be sent via email, or through a PM?

I wasn't notified, the private forums just appeared one day when I logged in.

Raiderette,
Read my post 453213 above. If you've done all that, it takes a couple days for us to complete the verification (as Andy notes above).
If it's been a week or more since you sent your request, PM either Andy or me.
