One of my friends is on the planning committee for our company's holiday party. Does anyone have any good party ideas that they've seen done in the past? We're on a semi-limited budget, and it will be held at at local country club... The idea of casino night has apparently already been shot down (although I have no idea why).

Thanks!

Our Christmas parties are the worst so I don't have advice for you. Good luck.

Last year at our bank's annual party. I had a blast.
The reason? Just about 5 guys drinking at the bar before during and after the dinner. Not falling-down drunk, you understand. But there wasn't any politics or...as bad as it sounds, women.

How about a holiday murder mystery party? You basically set it up like the game Clue. Make up your own characters, use rooms, weapons, etc. that are already at the venue (i.e. country club) and have at it.

My advice is to NOT hold holiday parties at Nakatomi Tower unless you can be certain that there are no South Africans in the area.

Have you cruised the internet yet? When I was planning our office's open house this summer, I found lots of pary websites with neat ideas. We did an cuban theme, since it was summer, but I was tempted to do the Oscars and make it semi-formal.

Sure you can - it all worked out in the end at Nakatomi Tower, except the cop never got to finish his bad of donuts after doing some darn good driving in reverse!

What kind of Christmas party is it? My company used to have family oriented ones, but now we have adults only department parties.

we just have a small office party. There are only 6 of us here, so it's nice. We have our families and play games. We did white elephant last year.
The bank-wide Christmas party is not called that because it isn't PC. We have an annual "employee appreciation dinner", although this year it's gonna be in February.
