WARNING: Potentially stupid question here....

Please take a look at this census tract map and tell me if it looks to you that Union Township has a census tract of 1.

http://ftp2.census.gov/plmap/pl_trt/st42_Pennsylvania/c42107_Schuylkill/CT42107_001.pdf

I am trying to get numbers for the municipalities in counties peripheral to our main lending area, and the numbers look so different from the ones we're used to that I think I'm off base (about the census tract numbers - that I'm off base otherwise is indisputable ).

In a location
Well, it does look like CT1 to me. Hopefully someone more familiar with that area will respond (if needed).

The link doesn't work for me, so e-mail or post the county and state you are looking at and I will tell you what the tract numbers are.

The 2000 data has changed in many areas, including new tract numbers, and most likely the tract income classification. All Block Numbers (BNA's) areas now have tract census numbers.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of PA Counties and the census tract numbers for each?

I wish I could find such a list. What I did find was this

http://ftp2.census.gov/plmap/pl_trt/st42_Pennsylvania/

For each county, it has the actual maps w/ census tracts and numbers. However, it's a painstaking process (at least the way I did it).

Don Narup was kind enough to send me his maps for three rural counties so I could match up his numbers with what I was seeing on the individual maps.

The situation should resolve itself when FFIEC updates their maps for the 2000 census, but apparently they aren't going to do that until after March 1, 2003, so that anyone needing the 1990 maps for HMDA/CRA submissions has access to them. Geez - can't they afford the bandwidth to have both sets of maps?

If anyone has any easier solutions, please, let's hear 'em!
