Has the Cooler Jumped the Shark? If so, when did it happen?

If it hasn't then tell me about a current or old TV show that you think Jumped the Shark. Then tell me when it jumped the shark.

(No fair looking at the JTS website for clues.)

"Frasier" jumped the shark when Niles married Daphne. (IMHO)

To the original question, I don't think the cooler as a whole will ever jump the shark, but certainly threads will.

Jumping the Shark is an industry term used to describe a TV show that has outlasted its usefulness and descended into self-parody. It comes from the Happy Days episode in which Fonzie jumped a shark tank (while in jeans and a leather jacket.). The show went downhill from there.

Boston Legal jumped the shark when it jettisoned Lake Bell, Monica Potter, and Rhona Mitra.

In my humble opinion.

I don't think I Love Lucy ever went to color. Are you thinking of that unfortunate show called The Lucy Show?

I Love Lucy definitely jumped the shark when they all moved to Connecticut and (I think) was expanded to an hour.

No, but it came close a couple of times after Radar left. Fortunately, the producers stopped making Klinger wear women's clothing.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. I agree about the Connecticut thing. It was kinda awful...except the episode when they decided to become chicken farmers. That was pretty funny.

It may not have jumped the shark, but the sharks were circling during those later episodes where Alda & Co. were more preachy than funny.

We all know that MASH started to degenerate when Larry Linville (Frank) left. It started a cascade of other bad moves: Hot Lips went soft, Charles came to the 4077th, Klinger stopped wearing drag, Hotlips and Hawkeye did the nasty, Alan Alda took over and made the show into an anti-war preach-fest (c'mon Alan, we already knew that war is bad!).

All that is fine and good, but let's talk about a really crucial jumping of the shark in TV history. Of course, I am talking about:

DICK YORK REPLACING DICK SARGEANT ON BEWITCHED
