It's funny you mentioned that. When I went To compliance school in Norman back in 93 some women on our plane ordered bloody beers I was with someone else from NY and we had never heard of this before. Are you out there Ellen?

It does seem to be an "out West" thing. I haven't ordered a red beer anywhere else than Montana, so maybe it's just a Montana thing! Some people like Clamato (tomato and clam juice--blech!) but just plain old tomato juice for me. Yum Yum. It's a good thing our Christmas party is tomorrow night so I can partake!

I can't speak for the others, but I was just trying to be humorous. Ever see those commercials on TV for breakfast cereal and at the end of the commercial they say "This cereal is part of a balanced breakfast" and then they show a spread with the cereal, some toast, and a glass of milk and OJ? Well, just imagine that same spread, forget the milk and OJ and give me a Mai Tai, baby! The smirk I added was for the thought that struck me as I was writing the post...one too many Mai Tais and the breakfast isn't balanced any more (if you know what I mean)!

I'm right here, bloody beers brings back fond (sort of fuzzy)memories. My Christmas party is tonite also, I'll be able to check off all the "fruit & veg" boxes on my WW Journal. Jim B, are you there -- remember the "drink of the compliance conference" votes?

Since we're talking about drinking, and this is (not) Friday Frivolity , I'll throw another log on the fire. How 'bout them (Georgia) Dawgs! Whoop those Arkansas piggies!!

Mai Tais (favorite drink of my Aunt and Uncle in OK), Bloody Beers (we called them red eyes), Jack (Black Label), Crown, Wine - I think I finally found a group I can relate to.

I've got an Elks buddy that drinks 4 after work. He's a CFO for another bank in town. Wonder if that's got anything to do with it.

Umbrella drinks came from this post directed to Andy Z back in June.

Wait, Wait This is a business trip. I have to stand up and give an actual talk to "Bankers". I am preparing my speech at this very moment -- here on the beach -- in the hot sun --with only cold little drinks with pinapples and umbrallas on them to quench my thirst.

Here's the little lady with another umbrella now.

Andy - this one's for you

Well back to the compliance grind

I think Brian has been getting the lights, as it's still a sunny 2:00 PM in his corner of the world.

Let's don't end it yet - here's some Week-end Frivolity for those in California. Go see the hottest group in LA! (OK, OK, so they're not the hottest - yes they are. OK, they're the hottest NEW group in LA!) Can you guess which one is my son???

AARRGGHH!! Here I am chiming in about the umbrella drink place after everybody else has gone home. Sorry, three week construction on our office just finished yesterday, and just in time, since senior management came for a visit today.

Anyway, enough excuses. The Royal Hawaiian is indeed nice, but I prefer the Moana Surfrider. It is waikiki's oldest hotel and IMHO its most beautiful. Although, I did get very sick on the Mai Tais there one night. Of course, I had eight. Shouldn't have admitted that.

I haven't been to Waikiki in at least six months, now I'm tempted to go.

Oh, I'm also turning out the lights.

Have a good weekend!

Sorry not to respond sooner, vacation time-parties etc. , well anyway, been almost every one since 97. Sometimes we all don't attend the same conference (ABA vs BAI) but that doesn't stop us at all, then there can be TWO offical drinks, and he looks so innocent.
