I have a customer that purchased an auto in Florida. The dealership is telling me that in order to get the auto registered they will need the banks federal tax number.

Is this needed to register a vehcile in FL?

Is the vehicle being financed by your bank?
The lien info is put on the title, so maybe it is related to that?

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Banks in Florida have to file a registration with the DMV and place that on all their lien notices. The TIN is part of that registration.
