I am corporate compliance manager for a multi-bank holding company. The Federal Reserve has recommended that we develop a risk matrix for non-IT customer information such as files, notes, phone calls, etc. The banks would then write their own procedures using this as a template. Does anyone out there have such an animal already? I'll share if I end up doing one from scratch. Any help or links would be greatly appreciated.

I would also be very interested in a model format if you find one. My e-mail is lsmith@communitybank.net if you wouldn't mind.

The FDIC was here several months ago and left a sample (one page) Privacy Risk Assessment matrix that was developed by another bank. I've expanded it and would be willing to share it, providing that you realize that it may not be all-inclusive and whatever you develop comes back to me so that I may see what I missed. Post your email address to my here or to my home page if you are interested.

How does one find your home page, Grist?

Seriously, how about you e-mail it to MaryBeth or Michele and they can make it available for all of us. Thanks in advance.

Actually, I was thinking about my home page on BOL!

I'm not sure if the document is worthy to post, as it's more of a privacy risk assessment workpaper type document, versus a matrix of risk assessment elements.

The FDIC was encouraging us, and other banks, to develop a series of Privacy Risk Assessment Items/Issues, assign a level of risk, document the controls (of cited risks) that are in place and document a testing/audit/other schedule to re-affirm risk control.

That's the document that is available from me if anyone is interested.
