We are expanding our mortgage company to originate loans in Arizona. This is our first venture outside of Wisconsin. I've looked at the Arizona Legislature web site, but can someone point me to more reference material or the statutes I should be looking at on this web site that deals with loans in Arizona? At this time, I'm most interested in escrow regs.

Anybody seen anything on AZ's predatory lending law? We got a frantic email yesterday from the mortgage brokers' association full of dire warnings and statements, and I can't find any evidence that the law has even passed, much less that it will be that big a deal (it follows a lot of the other states' leads in standards.)

Wanted to bring this back to the top - we got yet ANOTHER email saying the AZ predatory lending law passed & was effective as of YE2002, but I still can't find anything official on it. Anyone heard anything? I've checked the usual sources (Lotstein, Butera-Andrews, state leg, etc.)

I wonder if the bill you are referring to was SB1343. It seems to be held up in committee.
