Boy, talk about switching hats!! I am working today in sunny, cool, (about 63 degrees) south GA. We are blessed with a really nice week of winter and then it gets hot again!

OK:
1. The viewing of televised sports is banned in my house, by my executive decree.
2. Living in Hawaii is NOT an endless string of sun drenched umbrella drinking ukulele playing days. All humans must occasionally veg out in front of the TV. It's a genetic mandate.

LOL. I don't mind SOME sports (KY derby, Army-Navy, football if the Skins are winning - so not all that often, and hockey, esp when the Stars are doing well) but not a regular diet of every single basketball game that is televised, etc.

What?? What?? Well, then why do people live in Hawaii? That is just wrong. I think the only time Hawaiians should be in front of the tv is if they are waiting for the nitrogen to dissipate from their bloodstream, or the wetsuit to dry out a little, or something. You've really burst my bubble there, Brian.

All right, that's it for me. Get the lights when you leave, OK, Brian? thanks, and see y'all in the AM. I imagine I'll be first here again.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
The Sugar Bowl is a necessity of life It used to be the SEC Championship game - when bowls really meant something. It's going to be really good this year when FSU and UGA meet. We're having a big party with fans from both sides to watch the game.

It's supposed to reach a balmy 54 degrees here today with no rain in the forecast which is a really good thing. Our bank staff in Albany, GA spent Christmas Eve in the Vault while tornados wreaked havoc all around them. Several people lost their homes that day. They are digging out, pulling trees off roofs, trying to get tarp or something over the roof before the rain comes New Year's. Those of us who will be able to enjoy the holidays are truely blessed.

Well, it doesn't appear that FSU will have a team to field if things keep going the way they are! I am a UGA fan, and I sure want to see the Dawgs win, but I hope that FSU doesn't lose any more players.

I try to be optimistic about these things! I'm hoping the FSU team will rise to the challenge and give us a really good game. Can't stand it when one team runs away with the game - boring.

I hope that the game will be good as well, with UGA winning, of course . Georgia's last two games have been sort of lopsided. I do hope they come out Wednesday night with the focus that they had in the Georgia Tech and SEC Championship games (well, they had focus at the beginning of the SEC game).

ARE YOU SERIOUS???? My significant other has a t.v. in his bedroom and in the living room. He has ESPN on at all hours of the day on both T.V's. PLUS he has the internet up with all of his fantasy football stuff!!! We plan what we do around a lot of important games! It gets sickening, but it helps that I truly love sports!!!

That sounds a little extreme - I'm glad you like sports. I love them too, and I have to admit, I did break up with a guy once because he didn't, and wouldn't let me watch football!

Last year the Alamo Bowl was important for Iowa fans, this year it's the Orange! I'm willing to pull for the Badgers in the Alamo if you support the Hawks on January 2nd. Deal?

I haven't had much time to post this last week, I didn't even get to say Merry Christmas to all. In running through the threads, I can see a lot has happened! So, to catch up in summary...I wish...

those with bodily pain, from whatever source (even Crown )a speedy recovery,

those with inclimate weather, plenty of sunshine and power,

those w/o inclimate weather, a beautiful white Christmas next year,

those who had a really bad Christmas Eve because some fool decided to forcibly take instead of graciously give my deepest sympathy and prayers,

those who are retiring my congratulations along with a big RASBERRY!(just kidding), and,

to those who did not win the lottery a little advice...place the money you would normally spend on tickets in savings and before long, you too will be rich! Just don't put it in your SDB, that tends to stir up suspicion !

Really, I hope ya'll have had a wonderful Christmas and enjoy an even better New Year!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Ohio State is a losing bet. I don't think that they're gonna get creamed, like all of the "sports experts" think, but if Miami can score points on the Buckeye D, then OSU will lose. I haven't been impressed with their (the OSU) offense. If Miami can shut down Maurice Clarett, it's game over. (Sorry OSU fans, just expressing an opinion)

tdrago: You're probably right about Ohio State, their offense is one-dimensional. I think either Iowa or Southern Cal would give Miami a better game. But I think Kara was saying she roots for the Big Ten teams, not that she expects them all to win.

Oh, I think you're right. Being a Georgia fan, the bowl season is generally the one time that I pull for teams like Florida and Tennesee. I generally pull for all the SEC teams, but I think Ole Miss is going to be the proverbial "sacrificial lamb" against Nebraska!
