Believe it or not we do get quite hot in the summer too. We have had weeks where the temps range from 95 to 105. It's not uncommon for August to average 90 degrees.

It's not cold year 'round up here.

I just wish I had an autostart right now.

I've thought of that. But there are other things. We have one of the lowest crime rates in the entire country. Mostly all the family is in this area.

Besides I think I would be bored if I didn't have four seasons. (No offense to the southern states) You should see the energy here in the spring.

Besides if I moved to a milder climate, what would I complain about?

Well, if you're a compliance officer, then you're in luck. Compliance officers always have plenty to complain about, regardless of location, weather, etc. Having the weather to complain about just gives you a little variety!

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Okay - for those of you who are used to very cold weather - They tell me it's gonna be 12 degrees here in South GA tomorrow night. How do I protect my roses - they're still blooming

Cover them with sheets during the night so the frost won't touch them.

Get those styrofoam covers they sell at a nursery. and then cover it with leave if you have them or anything to insulate it more. If your roses are too big for this as far as I know you are out of luck.

You're worried about the roses? Won't 12 degrees kill the gnats!?

P.S. Spray the roses with water, it will freeze and help to insulate them.

P.SS. Let me know if this works.

You are all a bunch of whiners!

It ranges from -90 to +100 in Fairbanks Ak. Talk about the need for an extensive wardrobe!

An off the shoulder duct tape gown with Charmin accents? How extensive can that be?

Heh Heh, you'd be amazed at how many duct tape gowns a girl needs in her wardrobe. I have a Dorothy duct tape dress (and a toto duct tape dog), a Firemans jacket of duct tape, a long gown (for the more formal years) and a french maid duct tape dress. We save the charmin outfits for the warm summer events

Apparently we will be having 3 to 5 inches of snow tomorrow...I'm sure the entire region will shut down.

Dawnie: This is how it works in Southeast Virginia...last Wednesday we had 1/64 of an inch of snow. There were 500 (yes 5-0-0) accidents in 1 1/2 hours during rush hour. They closed the 3 bridges that get me out of my neighborhood (one of which was stuck open because, can you believe it, because of the ice!! what moron opened the bridge anyway when the other 2 were closed!!! Maybe it was someone from HUD!!!!). It took me 3 and 1/2 hours to get to work and I was one of the lucky ones. OK, vent over.

Again, I want my 95 degree heat and 140% humidity!!!!! And I would love a cheese to go with my wine (whine)!!

Did I mention how much I hate HMDA!!??? Ok, I'm done w/ my mental break(down).

LMAO Shelley! I experienced all of that goober when I lived in Washington. Amazingly enough, when we have our first snow, we have accidents up the kazoo! I always check out the licence plates to see if they're newbies to the state or if they're just embaressing the rest of us Alaskans. (normally it's number 2 in a 4x4)

HMDA? LR? I need to play with a sledge hammer every night at the sweeties condo to take out my aggressions. (He's losing alot of walls).

Jac,

Loved the new picture last week. But talk about reopening wounds, every post I read of yours this week reminds me of that travesty. Is there an acceptable mourning period after which the picture changes?

Well, yesterday I got home and found that my Eagles display in my front picture window had been taken down and replaced with a Valentine display. So maybe the mourning period is over
