One of my loan officers has committed to funding the purchase of a residence in Illinois for a local customer. Yes, I'm in Texas!

We're not equipped to prepare Illinois loan documents, and we don't know anything about real estate law in Illinois. Any advice, attorney recommendations, sympathy you might have for me will be greatly appreciated!

Lestie, I currently don't do loans in IL, but we did at a previous employer and if I remember correctly, IL has some specific requirements when it comes to the mortgage and note.

Anyway Chicago Title in Chicago 312-223-2800 and in Crystal Lake 815-455-1570 handled a lot of our closings for us. They might be a good start for you.

Thanks, Dan! We've got a starting point now. And plans to lynch a loan officer!
