I received a call from a vender trying to sell training material on the Elderly Abuse laws for SC. I've been searching the SC statutes to find information on a bank's reporting requirement under the Elder Abuse laws. I've located the Adult Protection law, but it doesn't really have anything useful in it, other than it has to be reported if anyone knows it's going on. Is anyone including information on elder abuse in your training? Is this a requirement now?

Look at BankersOnline's daily news list. There is an ad there for training too. But it explains that the Elder Abuse is a California law, but if you have any customers who reside in Calif. they are covered too & your employees need to be aware of the Calif. law.

Has anyone found anything since this original thread? This is very similar to a question I was researching today - are there elder abuse training requirements, such as annually, in the SC code? Interestingly enough, I found this...

Doesn't mention training, or really anything much towards banking.
