Does anyone have a suggestion for a good quality tape to use for time lapse VCRs?

For years we've used regular VCR tapes but they don't seem to last very long and the picture quality isn't all that great.

We use a slow tape speed (lasts about 7-10 days) and a black and white system, if that matters.

Chances are, the company that sold you/services you surveillance equipment sells high quality time lapse tapes, so that's the first place to check.

Of course, with the prices of DVR systems coming down, it may be more cost effective for you to go digital. With the cost of replacement tapes eliminated, the DVR units can easily pay for themselves in just a few years.

I recently had an individual come and do a security check for us. This individual is in charge of security at a casino and is also a Surveillance Video Consultant.
He recommended the following place for us to purchase our tapes: NUVIDIA.com, David Harding, 9258 Bond, Overland Park, KS 66214, Phone 1-800-671-5505 ext 124 and FAX 913-599-5222. He recommended the T160 Pro Bulk. The cost should be around $1.50 each.
We have been using these tapes for about 6 months and have been very satisfied.

We use standard SONY cassettes, replace them after every 3 uses and it has served us well.
