The new act covers the Elderly (defined as 65 or older) and Dependent Adults (defined as between 18 and 64 AND who is an inpatient in a 24 hour health facility.)

I've mentioned it everyplace else, it only makes sense mention it here that the CaBA has excellent training materials, including a video for contact personnel, on their web site. You may have to redirect some of the references to because the video makes reference to "adult protective services" as a generic reference.

Al,

I tried watching the video but at about 9 minutes into the video it stopped. Is this something we need to purchase from the California Bankers Association?

How does this act apply to banks in other states that have accountholders that live in CA? Will we need to devlop a compliance plan, policies, procedures, etc?

I have tried this link and have failed to gain access to the training video. Do I need to be a member to view the video? My IT department can't explain why I am unable to view it, if others can without being a member.

I had no problem accessing the video from home. It could be a firewall issue, and your IT folks should know that.
