I am doing an audit of the payroll function at our bank. We own a mortgage company in Kentucky and I am trying to figure out how the county tax is figured. Does anyone know where I can go to find this information. It seems there is a county tax and KYC145.(I don't know what that means). I need some guidance, please help. Thank you.

I would start with the taxing authority where your mortgage company is located to be sure that you are calculating it correctly. The local taxes that I have worked with in the past have usually been calculated on the same taxable wage basis as for federal and state tax purposes (of course without deducting any exemptions). However, the local taxing authority could give you all the details for your location.
