For some reason, I have become the Policy drafter. Does anyone have an ALLL policy they would be willing to share. I recently was hired to be the compliance officer for a mid-size credit union and I have been taksed with updated the ALLL policy to conform with NCUA letter no 02-CU-99.

I am looking for some general format and policy introduction info.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This seems to be something your finance and accounting people should do, you just review it to see that it has all the elements from the NCUA letter you mentioned.

I whole heartedly agree. Accounting and collections have already revised the ALLL policy and returned a 1 page document that basically says management will adjust the ALLL as needed.

However, for some reason, I have become the policy wonk and have been asked to revise several policies that are not part of the normal compliance function.

You could try Kirchmans for a freebie start. Shush!enuf! (Sheshunuff) also provides policies that you have to pay for. You will have to tailor whatever you start with to the bank's practices and it wouldn't hurt to call your regulator. We did! They were very helpful.
