My husband got a new camera for graduation. He got a large format Mamiya. Found a great deal and he has been having a ball.
Those are awesome cameras. I always wanted one but now with how good digital is I don't have much desire. I like to have the control digital gives me. But I wouldn't turn one down if someone offered it to me.
Besides I just dropped a bundle on a new lens so I'm tapped out for new equipment this year.

I am a vacation time camera user who would like, may be, to get a digital camera. Can someone recommend a camera under $400 that is simple to operate, delivers quality photos and has decent zoom features? Thanks.

Cool. If you have the money they make a 39 megapixel back these days. Only $30,000.
I think that is for Hasselblad though.
Anon. Check out www.dpreview.com there are too many out there of the point and shoot cameras. Besides I don't own a point and shoot, only two DSLRs. Sorry I can't help you more.
