Before we add an appraiser to our list of authorized appraisers, we commonly ask for samples of an appraisers work, however one appraiser is telling us this practice is illegal. Is that true? The only thing I think it could violate would be privacy issues? Any thoughts?

Any privacy issues could be resolved by getting dedacted copies which remove or block any personal information in the reports.
