I'm in - thanks for setting up the league again, BF.

I’m in too. My first ever fantasy football league.
Be gentle with me.

I don't want to crash your league (I'm not in here that often) but I'm curious as to some opinions here. I'll probably be in other leagues so I am looking for a consensus on the top picks. I understand if you don't want to give away your master plans (and feel free to post anon) but what is your order of: The Top Five Backs: Alexander LT LJ Edge Tiki Or maybe you don't agree with that top 5 and think that someone else (McGahee, Cadillac, Steven Jackson, Westbrook...) should be in there.
I won't ask anyone to rank QB or WR - can't ask yu to give away everything!

Type 5 backs?
LT Cadillac Rudi Johnson (Look out, he'll be playing with a strong line AND without a problem knee this season) Alexander (risky though, he's due for a big injury) Larry Johnson
Bengal Nation would not have forgiven you if you did not put Rudi in your top 5 - good call. Not sure how I missed him when I made the list to begin with. Guess I am just not in football mode yet - I'm still working on my fantasy baseball league! Being a Charger fan, though, I love to see LT at the top of the list. Lots of people are falling in love with LJ's final 10 games from last year and putting him ahead of LT.

Rudi has been one of those second tier guys for a few years. Regardless of Bengal Nation, I think this year will be his break out year. He has improved every year he's been a starter, this is his first year without a problematic knee, and Carson Palmer is going to need a strong running game early in the season to keep him from having to drop back as much early on. Rudi's my sleeper pick to have an amazing season.

Alexander Larry Johnson LT Tiki Rudi Johnson
I had LJ, Tiki, and Rudi Johnson last year. I won the league, but I could only play two guys each week and I usually benched the wrong one.
I'd be leary of Edge, guys that change teams usually take a year or so to get comfortable, plus their line is weak.
Watch-out for Steven Jackson, new coach, new philosophy, maybe more opportunities. I also like Lamont Jordan for the same reason.

You might as well put Dorsey Levens at 4, because I'm sure the Eagles will sign him at some point again this year.

I always make this same argument to my buddy, and not just in football. Seem like whatever the sport is a star's first year with a new team is never quite what they hoped for. (I know, not always the case - leave me alone all you TO supporters.) So I almost did not put Edge on the list at all. But I also see an outside chance that they are a poor man's "Greatest Show on Turf" Rams. They scored points last year without a running game and those young WRs get better by the day. They might be scary...

OK, I'll ask. Who do you see as the top WR? I see this one as much more difficult than years past. You can't pencil in Moss, TO and Harrison in for 100 catches and 10 TD like you have in the past what with Moss' troubles last year, TO switching teams and having been out a while and Harrison giving more and more of his catches to Wayne, Stokley, Clark, etc. Chad Johnson's year depends on Palmer's knee (which will be 100% by September, right BF?) and the league has to figure out eventually that if Carolina is passing that they are looking for Steve Smith, all 5'9" of him. I like the Arizona receivers but will Fitzgerald or Boldin put up the numbers. Or is there enough ball for both of them. Will the QB situation in Detroit allow Roy Williams to put up numbers? Break out year for Andre Johnson? Holt? Plaxico? Horn? Who do you like?

Chad Johnson is going to have a monster year. He's been called a turd by PFT, and my sources tell me that he's TOd! (ticked off) and ready to work harder than ever to prove he's not.

Tory Holt is the closest thing to a sure thing. Marvin Harrison's numbers should be better without Edge James. Assuming Big Ben can still see straight, Hines Ward's numbers should be better, as their running game is a little weaker. Steve Smith has Keyshawn, which could take away some touchdowns, but also will take away some triple-teams. Derrick Mason, reunited with McNair should be good. Agree that Chambers should be a pick good as well. Sleeper pick: Dante Stallworth with Brees at QB.

A totally biased pro football talk website, "profootballtalk.com". The guys who write for it are in Pittsburgh, and always talking trash. They also tend to print whatever rumor they hear without checking it.
