Madam, sushi is not raw fish. What you are thinking of is called sashimi. Sushi is rice and veggies and may or may not have smoked fish, crab, shrimp, etc. with it. Some might have raw fish, but many of the best do not.

Try a spicy california roll sometime!

Are you talking about the Sushi and Fois Gras?

TG would likely be in my top 5 people most likely to NOT eat sushi

(and who the heck eats foie gras except yuppies that have something to prove?)

No specific order of preference.

1. Grilled and/or BBQ Pork Steaks, tater salad (as TG says), cole slaw, hot rolls.
2. See #1 but replace Pork Steaks with Chicken.
3. Jambalaya (?)
4. Steak, baked "tater" with butter, corn, hot rolls.
5. Bacon, eggs over medium, toast or biscuits, fried taters, gravy.

Pizza and onion rings (great combination IMO)
Macaroni and Cheese - baked of course
Spaghetti and garlic bread
Fried Shrimp, Baked "tater" w/ butter & sour cream, salad w/ ranch
Fried taters & eggs w/ garlic salt and shredded cheddar.
(This is really good, my husband had never heard of it and he is now hooked. Use tater chunks, add garlic salt, brown the taters, once they are cooked add the eggs, mix it all up until the eggs are cooked, add cheese, enjoy.)

I have absolutely nothing to prove. I eat it because I like it. Have you ever tried it? Or are you up in Chicago where they banned it?

The problem with most of the Fois Gras in the US is that they do not get it from geese, but from ducks. It's just not the same.

I have never had fois gras, but it's goose liver right? I have never had it but I guess I would try it.

Sushi or sashimi is very good though.

Real fois gras is wonderful! Just like real, unprocessed French Brie. You just can't get it here.

I've had fois gras a couple times -- it's ok, but nothing to rave about. But then I come from humble beginnings, so what do I know. Along the liver theme though, I've always loved liver sausage (made from pork liver).

Sometimes I think just the name they put on this stuff raises the price. Like steak tartare -- when I was a kid, my mother would bring home fresh gound round for burgers and half of it would be gone before she could start cooking from me, my brothers, and my dad taking handfuls, salting it and popping it into our mouths.

As far as sushi goes, I don't care for the raw stuff like tuna. I'll have a california roll occasionally, but have to be in the mood for it. Again, nothing to rave over.

3. Steak with baked potato
4. Chicken Parm. from Olive Garden (I love authentic Italian food and I know that Olive Garden is nthing close to authentic but I still love this)
