This little boy is wanting to get 500,000 hits on his and his sister's web page before his bone marrow transplant...I believe he is in the hospital and this helps to pass the time... please check it out! www.alexandmatt.com

(And I know a thing or 2 about passing the time in the hospital .)
They have 453,854 visits so far. Can you add to it?

I just added some clicks to the meter by logging on a few times!

I hope the family is able to stay encouraged. My sister-in-law had a non-perfect bone marrow transplant nearly twenty years ago for leukemia. She was one of the first to survive a non-match transplant -- and she is completely free from leukemia today. There is hope!

Something to consider in addition to logging in is to become part of the National Bone Marrow Registry. One of you may be the exact match someone needs. All it requires is a blood donation. Do it soon. Give the gift of life.

I added several more log ins as well. It is sad that they could not find a match for him. I will be spending time in the hospital with my brother-in-law in September when he undergoes the first of two bone marrow transplants but fortunately for his second transplant his one brother was a match. My heart goes out to Matt and his family. I plan to be added to the registry as well because of what we have learned through my BIL's illness and the importance of good matches.

I went to the website and it is sooo sad to hear things like this. It just breaks my heart. I logged in a couple of times to help. I hope all goes well for both of them

If anyone is interest in becoming a donor you can go to www.marrow.org and find out how to register. You can even print off the registration form and mail it in with $ and they send you a kit to swab your cheeks and then you send back in and they analyze and put you on the donor list.

I have been on the registry for about 10 years now. . .wish I'd only had to give a cheek swab to get on!

I have been keeping up with this since the thread was posted. It is so sad to see someone so little having to be going through such a horrible thing. I hope that all goes well for him during his surgery today.

Ever since MOPNB posted this in July I have followed Matthews progress several times a day (our family will be facing a BMT in near future). Every day I check their Journal and just now checked again and Matthew is giving up. His family is exhausted and Matt is tired of fighting. Please pray for this little guy and his family as they try to hang on and not give up hope. Their faith has been keeping them going but it's getting harder and harder to hold onto that hope. My heart aches for all of them and I ask for prayers from all BOLers to see them through this.

I have been tracking his progress as well, but haven't looked for a few days. More prayers going their way.
