In the 1960 film version of HG Wells' "The Time Machine," at the very end of the movie, George leaves his friend, gets into his time machine, and returns to the future and Weena. His friend, played by Alan Young, discovers that George took three books with him.

What three books do you think he took with him into the future?

i would like to know why steven was harassed in the first 3 replies to his post? i've never seen the movie, but unless those books are hillary clinton biographies, those are sorry, little, mostly-worthless people. bimmer gets a slight pass as his were actual jokes rather than personal attacks. childish attacks. make this about me if you want, but you have to live for the cheapest gas station in town the rest of your life.

and why must you be so desperately seeking me; so wanting to build yourself up to what you have built me up to be? "oh, let me type in all lowercase to be snotty at ron 'cause he thinks he's SO cool." the world isn't screwing you over. this is all your fault. but pick yourself off an try again. don't go through life with regret.

Good movie! Much better than the recent remake.

I'd take:

1) Plato's "Republic"
2) "The Federalist Papers" by Hamilton, Madison & Jay
3) The Complete works of Shakespeare or
a book on metalurgy or chemistry

What can I say, I'm a practical guy.

Odd choice, for a Brit...

Ron, what makes you think everything is about you, right down to whether someone uses capital letters or not?

Oh, and I would assume that the books were a Shakespeare, a Dickens, and either John Locke or Adam Smith. Take your pick.

that's not true. i've seen enough and heard enough to know i have certain "admirers" or stalkers. i've had my posting style ripped on and pointed out with some regularity that i think it is safe to assume i am being mocked by someone roughly feigning to be me to steven. mind your own business, j. focus on the rest of what i said if you feel the need to comment.

SH,

On behalf of Ron, I will admint to sometimes mocking Ron by copying his style. Sorry Ron, but you are an easy target. And I figured you would take it in fun.

are you admitting that you harassed steven in the first 2 posts by using my lower case style?

listen, i do take it in fun if it is meant that way AND if people don't hide behind anonymity.

I think he took:

1. His personal journal
2. "The Brothers Karamazov" by Fyodor Dostoevsky
3. Something by William Shakespeare

Poor Ron...maybe if you didn't make yourself such an easy target by assuming everything is about you...

BTW I was joking with the Steven comment. Ron, I percieve your anon(ness) as hiding. I wonder if others do also. But it really was probably not you. I said that as a "snipe".
