I don't get this forum at all...if you;re new and you have a question on BSA, posit it in the BSA forum. If you're new and you have a question on operations, post it in the operations forum. Am I the only one that is confused here???

That is exactly right. Many of our experienced users had expressed frustration about the Banking 101 type questions being posted in substantive forums. They felt they had to weed through those to get to more meaty discussions. On the other hand, we were all newbies once, and at some time or another each position in an institution will have someone new occupying it and they can use a helping hand.
Those of you who have lots of experience, training and knowledge can stay in the other forums -- or can stop over here to lend a helping hand and enjoy the satisfaction of reading a question and thinking, "Hey! I know the answer to that."

Thank you so very much for providing this particular portion of the forum, and for the bankersonline site altogether! Being new to banking, this website has been invaluable to me. When my supervisor and I both didn't know how to handle something that came up today, I posted my very first question to the website. I got a very nice email directing me to the "newbie nook" where my question had been posted, and now I'm hoping someone much more experienced will have good advice for us. I remember when I was first introduced to BOL, and I was VERY hesitant to post questions, and sometimes felt a bit overwhelmed. But, as I became more familiar with the site and got used to seeing "familiar" user names popping up, I became more comfortable posting questions.
And as my knowledge has grown in a couple of areas, I am confident with posting advice and sometimes pointing people in the right direction for info on the web.
I think this is a fabulous forum and as always, THANKS BOL!! That said, WELCOME NEWBIES!!
