I know that it is not necessary to file a Suspicious Activity Report on a bank robbery. However, if the employee who was the victim of the robbery admitted to planning and conspiring with the robber, would this be considered insider abuse and warrant a SAR?

I say yes. The employee was conspiring to steal from the bank.

I doubt that this is what they had in mind when they set up the "insider abuse" category, but I'm fairly certain they would like to have your employee's name and SSN in that data base...
