My Hubby & I are actually on a Monopoly kick.. we go through game phases. We play at least 2-3 times a week with other folks & I refuse to be the banker.

I am amazed at the number of kids that don't know how to count out change.

One of my favorite games. I'm a ruthless negotiator and have NEVER lost a game. Needless to say, I have to keep finding new people to play against.

Any ladies up for a game of strip Monopoly?

I loved to be the banker. My siblings all cheated and took extra money when they were the bankers. I didn' tplan to be one when I grew up though!!

Nawna I began teaching my son how to count money when he was 3!

I somehow have an obsession to be in control of the money. Wonder why that is?

I was the banker. I think it's because I was the only one smart enough to do it.

As long as I get my $200 when I pass go, I'm happy! They've dubbed me "Railroad Queen" because I ALWAYS land on the railroads & buy 'em.

What is the oldest manufactured date of your Monopoly set? I have one dated 1978. All original pieces and box.

If I recall, statistically the orange properties are the ones landed on the most...I always go for those first.

I hate being the banker when we play. If my hubby is the banker he stays destracted and I have a better chance at winning.

It didn't matter to me who the banker was... as long as I got my money... thing I had to watch.. my brother could NEVER play without cheating and if ya called him on it... needless to say.. game was over as the pieces and money were flying across the room as he would slap the board of the table... he was ... well still is such a baby when it comes to board games.

i LOVE monopoly! i even play it the real way with no free parking and with auctioning off the properties if the person landing on them doesnt want to buy them. i even have my own custom playing piece i made out of colored clay...a littl etree with money signs on it

"strip" monopoly...now that's an idea to ponder. i mean, the game can be so long....

Did anyone see the advertisment for the new monopoly which uses ATM cards instead of paper money?

I love all the non-classic Monopoly games that show up. There's a really cool one they sell at the Newport Aquarium called Oceanopoly. Same game, different locals and such.

I saw it.
Kinda made me mad...as if I don't have enough trouble trying to get a cashier at the gas station to give me the correct change.

Now they won't even have basic Monopoly experience to help them learn!

The Parker Brothers Monopoly game dates back to the 30's. It was a depression era game.

I don't like being the banker, just because it's an extra thing to do. I would rather just focus on my game.

I'm a big fan of the railroads too.
