Another HMDA question here. We have a loan on a property for which no MSA or CenTract can be found. We can find a BNA number. I know we can put NA for MSA, but can we use the BNA number for the CenTract? Thanks.

See page 13 and 14 of the GIR. From page 14:

As of the 2000 census, every area of the country is in a census tract. Accordingly, Block Numbering Areas (BNAs) no longer exist.

We have a property that does not come up with a census tract. Any suggestions would be great! The FFIEC website does not return to us a match to the address. It is a small lakeside home/cabin in Roach, Missouri. The flood search does not list a CenTract either. Any help would be appreciated.

Curled up by the fire...
In cases where I have difficulty geocoding an address I try to narrow in on the zip code map using street addresses of nearby properties until I can determine where the property lies...

I might be a little dumb here. Zip code map? Is this on the Internet? Or do you just put in nearby properties on the FFIEC Geocode system?

On the FFIEC's website you can zoom in on the street map...I would geocode a crossroad of the property you are trying to locate and manuver the map to find the whereabouts of the property you are trying to locate...I use Wiz so it's not as difficult as using the FFIEC's website but it can be done...

Further South than I wanna be.
We have many loans like this. I usually try to find a map in the file that shows where the property is or ask the lender for cross roads near the property. Then I go to my maps in CRA Wiz (or you can use the FFIEC maps) and try to match the location. It isn't easy but it can be done.

You can also try to locate the property on Mapquest, and when you have the location, use the map on FFIEC to relocate your property and obtain your census tract.
