Does anyone know who in southwest Georgia that we might hire to do our BSA audits? Our CPA firm does not do this and does not plan to do so.

One firm that does this type of work for a number of community banks is Steve H. Powell & Co. Web site is www.shpco.net. Their office is in Statesboro, but I understand that they have client banks in your area already.

Another is BANC Financial Group out of Atlanta, GA. They cover all of GA, AL, FL, NC, SC, etc. and are very good.

I can vouch for BANC Financial...we used to use them for various services and I was satisfied with their scope and knowledge of compliance and loan review in general.

New source - Sidney White (lives in Jacksonville)has recently retired from the OCC, where he was a BSA compliance expert, and is now peforming external BSA Audits.

We use BFG as well, they are super. Kevin is an absolute force to be reckoned with when it comes to BSA. We heart BFG!

Hey - I used to work for BFG. Left them last year to come here. They are great people and know their stuff!!!
