Where are you? I know you'll be shocked and amazed to hear it, but I scored conservative. Apparently, not many conservatives finding this site: Of those taking the tes, only 8.68% scored conservative. http://www.self-gov.org/quiz.html

I couldn't find the link in your post, but I am familiar with the quiz. I am a Libertarian, but I knew that already. http://www.self-gov.org/quiz.html

I took it three with different answers and came up with different answers each time. Maybe you are such a Libertarian that you can't even vary from it when you are trying to.

So, all you right-wingers... ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS, The political description that fits you best is... CENTRIST CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice. Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

DQ and AML, you both may be centrist overall on this little test, but if we had a test that included social issues, you'd ring the bell to the left!

I am a centrist. Right along with DQ and AML. Does that mean I have a great mind too??
Sure, why don't we start a Centrist's Club?
I'm in!

The quiz isn't rigged per se - it gives you a certain number of points for each answer and places you on the grid based on the points.
However, as Buddy Love points out, it avoids some topics that might place a lot of people in either the liberal or conservative camps. Probably intentionally.

I'm a libertarian. Like TICG, I have to say that is no surprise to me.

There are more indepth quizes available. I took one once. It was more like 25 to 30 questions.
Plus some of the questions are hard to answer Y, M, N. That is why I took it twice. The first time I scored Centrist and I was answering honestly. Then I retook it with a different approach to the questions and scored conservative. (To get a useable result, several of the questions need clarification.)

Somehow I became a Libertarian from this quiz, as I've always thought of myself as slightly conservative with a slightly liberalistic approach to some social issues. Does this mean I'm officially confused?

Not really -- you can be liberal or conservative in your own beliefs, but if you tend to believe it is not the place of government to impose those beliefs on others or to have excess control generally, you would be thinking libertarian.
