We received what "appears" to be a quarter in a deposit today. The front says United States of America printed at the top and HEAD QUARTERS printed on the bottom. The back says WASHINGTON D.C. printed on the top and 2009 printed on the bottom.
I called the US Mint and they said it's not a quarter they produced, unless it was in error and then I could call a coin collector.
Does anybody have an idea on what this is?

State of confusion
My guess is with the phrase Head Quarters, it's a gag coin.

Very good guess! I decided to continue my search after reading your response and found the coin under Parody Quarter. It is selling for $3.49 on E-Bay.

Oh geez. Ain't that great. What if your kid gets this coin in change? Guess you have to have "the talk" earlier than planned.

Hummmm...no wonder, based on Nanwa's reponse, the site Randy posted was FORBIDDEN.

And it'll be significantly less funny if my supervisor has "the talk" with me . . . about trying to access forbidden sites from my desktop computer.

"It was from BankersOnline. Really!"

Sorry you all. I forgot that some sites might be off limits. Afterall, you are all children and big borther has to look after your best interests

While the page that I posted does not have anything wrong, it is an on-line prank store and I am sure some of the site has at least a PG-13 rating

Hey, I got through. I hit a firewall with just about anything. I'm not telling IT.

Like Nanwa, my first concern is giving the quarter back out. I thought this was worth a blog post. A seemingly dumb thing could create quite a stir in your lobby, especially if the wrong customer gets one of these. Since they start as real quarters, the look and feel (don't read into that ) will be genuine unless you spend a moment looking at it.

As the senior (in age, anyhow) member of the BOL staff, I must say that Andy has already spent too much time looking at these tawdry curios. He still has teenage boys at home!
