I am wondering if anyone would be willing to share their teller balancing guidelines. I'm looking for over/short amount, and disciplinary action taken, and time frames involved.

we set levels where the teller is sat down and talked with, put on probation or at the worst fired. We also look at other factors, whether they get along with their fellow tellers, and will even look at retraining.

We have a very easy policy.. We look at all factors, good teller, length of service, etc. If we let everyone go over losing 100.00 we would need new loan officers everyday.

Isn't that true! I've always said that tellers have the hardest job in the bank. And we'll fire them over a couple hundred dollars, yet we have lousy loan officers who make bad loans on a daily basis, and assume that as a cost of doing business!
