Actually a brown paper bag works even better than an oven bag! Perfection everytime. I usually slit the skin first in several areas and put sprigs of rosemary just under it with just butter, salt pepper on the skin. Awesome - always!!!

i could use your help with writing procedures. i need somebody to help me fill in the stuff i think is too obvious to actually put in the procedure. (and the sad part is that i am not trying to be condescending at all! i have learned to never take ANYTHING for granted)

LOL!! At Christmas last year I did manage to bake my moms' green bean casserole with saran wrap on it- my bad- it was so clear I didn't notice it on the dish- when I did notice it baking with a glaze (!!) on it I quickly took it out of the oven and scooped the saran wrap off of the beans and promptly put it back in the oven - anyhow it was delicious!

I have been watching the Food Network all the time over the last week or two trying to pick up some Thanksgiving tips. All of the recipes I'm using are from the site, with most of them coming from Good Eats and Alton Brown. Did anyone watch the Iron Chef last night? It was fun to see Giada and Rachael battle it out. I am also looking forward to the Food Challenge:Thanksgiving Feast, it is on on Wednesday night.

I agree Hoot, Rachael did put in more work and she deserved to win. The Challenge is where they all cook at the same time, it should be interesting to watch.

I watched the Thanksgiving Food Network Challenge last night. There were some interesting twists on the traditional Thanksgiving meal. I am a little freaked out though, if professional chefs are stressing with a 5 hour window to make Thanksgiving...how the heck am I going to do it!

I've been watching the Food Network for some more tips and tricks before Thanksgiving. Did anyone catch the Iron Chef episode last night?

LOL, Rachael did beat Giada in that special Iron Chef. It was fun to watch, but Rachael looked really stressed. If she were doing 30 minute meals, she could have made 8 or 9 dishes in that hour.

It's my first real Thanksgiving meal at my house, so the Food Network has been on most of the time for the past few weeks. Somehow I am hoping that I will absorb some of the knowledge and make a decent meal.

All I have to say is...Thank you Food Network!!!

All of the recipes that we used for Thanksgiving came out great, specially the Turkey. Alton Brown is a genius.

Did anyone watch the holiday cake competition that was on this weekend? I am always blown away at what they are able to do with cakes.

Seeing all of the cookies specials lately has inspired me to try some new recipes this year. I made some Mexican Wedding Cookies (Paula Dean) and some Peanut Butter Fudge over the weekend..yum!

I watched the cake competition. It just amazes me what they can do!

Paula Deen has a really good and super easy recipe for divinity and you can get the recipe on foodnetwork.com. It is called Mama's Divinity. I have had trouble in the past getting my divinity to come out decent but have had no troubles at all with this recipe.

My mother and grandmother would divide their divinity into three batches after they made it. They would add red food coloring to one batch and green to another batch. When they put it on a platter the pink, green and white were very pretty.

The main ingredients are sugar, corn syrup and egg whites. It's a lot like "forgotten cookies" only softer. If you go to the Food Network web site for Paula's recipe, there is a picture on her recipe.
