latest 314 request

I have received two e-mails, one last night at 8 pm and one this morning at 8 am regarding a new FINCEN 314 request. The first says one of three, the second says two of three. I have not received anything that says three of three. Am I alone in not getting this or have others experienced the same thing? HELP--this stuff is really a nuisance.....

Was I just dreaming, or did they promise that they wouldn't trickle them to us every few days like before? I've received the expedite and one of three. I'm just thankful we bit the bullet and put all our CC's in a database the last time these came in.

That's the same approach I took, as our MI logs are the only searchable area that cannot be found through our CIF. Loans, deposits, wires, trusts, and safe deposit boxes all require the transactor to be on our system. All in all, a request the size of this morning's '1 of 3' takes me less than an hour to search and document.

FOUL!!!! I am looking back and really studying some of this (now that HMDA-CRA dust has settled) and I am wondering if anyone else noticed that the dates we get them and the dates they are due will not always give us 10 days; notwithstanding the expedite requests. The first request was received by us on 2-21, 2 weeks would be 3-7; but the form has a due date of 3-4. The next one comes in 3-4 and is due 3-6. Now I have 2 sets today (3-5), due 3-18. GRRRRRR, it appears that they are setting their dates without any consideration as to when they actually email them or when we might be receiving them.  And, have no conception of what the different time zones do to these. I would bet that it also depends on how far down you are on their email lists as to how long it takes to actually receive it.

Our security officer normally handles these but she is out on PTO and a newbie back up is receiving these. The back up called me and said that it looks like one of the requests only applies to institutions in Colorado. I haven't seen it yet. For those of you who are receiving these, is this true?

I am very disappointed in the presentation of the data and response expectations by FinCEN. My Systems Dept has informed me that because we are receiving the data in a Word format, we cannot automate our systems search--so everything is manual. I was in the branches performing a compliance test yesterday and now I apparently have one day to verify compliance on an expedited search. Sure--11 banks, an insurance company, securities broker, credit card dept., leasing, mortgage banking dept, investments, trust.....no problem, man!

Yesterday's request was the Expidite request, which contained one attachment.
The first one today (1 of 3) contained 4 attachments
2 of 3 contained 5 attachments.
