Have "Questions & Answer" guidelines been put out for complying with Section 314(a). I thought I read somewhere that the regulators had issued Q&A's for this, but I can't find.

I tried looking on the internet also and couldn't find them. I think they removed them from the site. I do have a copy that came with the intial request. If you would like for me to send it to you, please email me at katoscano@flag.net

This is one place where being Anonymous leads to suspicion. If you are with a financial institution, check within the institution. You should have received the instructions directly from your primary federal regulator.

There is a reason the Q&A was taken offline by the government. These documents should be accessible on a need-to-know basis only.

I am new to this type of venue and didn't think out my response. The original Q&A went to the person in your institution that was the contact for the Control List. You may want to check with that individual. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Does anyone have further insights about putting 314a-FinCEN names into OFAC software? It's been suggested by my software company to create a customized file, manually inputing all the 314a-FinCEN names and thus making it (slightly)easier to verify the names against our entire customer base.

Remember that 314(a) requests are not ongoing. Check once and move on. So you would add the names and delete them after the check. You would also handle hits differently. But if that process works for you and is more economical, go for it.

The GuardDog software that was formerly for Control List checking will now accomodate 314(a) requests.

I understand the newest requests were available today from Attus.

I'm using GuardDog. It's worked okay so far. However, there is still manual research to be done.
