I missed this week's show. Who had to pack up their knives and leave?

I think, am not 100% positive though, that the next new episode will be Jan 3rd.

I think you have the date right.
And it's a 'super-sized' episode, I guess. That's what they're advertising.
So there must be some big drama...

Well, Betty's gone.

Did anyone else watch?
I don't like Marcel at all (as a person), and I agree he uses too much 'foam', but they sure seemed to be picking on him a lot this week.

I was sad to see Betty go, she had moments of greatness towards the beginning of the season. Marcel is so annoying, I think I would probably blow up at him eventually. No matter how patient you are, living with a snobby punk 24/7 will grate on you after a while.

Marcel should be the next one to go. All the bickering aside, he just doesn't have the versatility they are looking for. The boy just loves foam...and himself.

If I could pick the final 3, it would be Sam, Ilan, and probably Elia. Michael may end up being the biggest suprise of this show though, he had a clean sweep last night. I think the drugs from the dental surgery helped him relax a little and really get creative.

Maybe the medication helped his focus?
He is definitely coming on strong at the right time...

I think you're right about the final three, although I'm not sure I can count Cliff out. I think the third spot will be either him or Elia. Maybe she'll try even harder because she's the only girl left.

There are times when I like Cliff, and other times I don't. He really rubbed me the wrong way during the previous episode when he set up the team for failure and then nominated Elia to be the leader towards the end. He had immunity, be a man and take responsibility for your actions and decisions.

Elia has had some great moments though. Even though both of them had a lapse in judgement last night, I'd like to see Ilan or Sam win the title.

IMO, Sam's been the one to beat from the beginning. Betty was good but not as knowledgeable on cooking procedures. Elia is a bit too ethnic. Mikey is learning as he goes. Given enough exposure to real chefs like Sam, he's moving from line cook to chef pretty quickly but I don't think he's got the stuff. Marcel is annoying beyond all reasonable belief but he has good ideas beyond just the dam* foam. Ilan is grating on me. I don't like people who slam others to get to the top.

Sam's been a leader and a good chef from the start and that's what it takes to be the Top Chef.

It doesn't hurt either that Sam is easy on the eyes too!

Betty's TGIFridays meal was not half bad either...it was light and tasty!

I liked Betty and I wish she could have had it to at least F3.

F3 I think will be Sam, Ilia, and anyone but Marcel.

I also liked Betty, but I don't think that she was Top Chef material. Don't get me wrong . . . she cooked some great stuff (according to the judges), but I don't think that she should win first place - second or third would have been OK.

Can not stand Marcel. I also like Sam and wouldn't mind him winning.

Can't wait until next week!

I was reading the Blogs from the show, and Ilan says that there was a lot more going on with the chefs that was edited out of the show. He said that Marcel was out of control and most of his behavior was edited out.

I find Marcel annoying with the stuff they leave in, so if what Ilan is saying is true, I understand why everyone lost their cool.

Well who knew that Marcel was a gangsta rapper. Michael is finally gone and it is about time. Except for last week, he was a mess. I think Cliff or Ilan could go next. But wait, they will make Top Chef history and kick someone off the show. Who could that be?

I missed the first part of the show. Anything interesting happen? I only saw from the point that the olive pit was found on the table until the end of the show.

Let's see. It's the episode where they split the chefs into 2 teams and let them set up dueling restaurants. The two winners of the quickfire (Marcel and Sam)were the team leaders. Marcel's team went with a diner concept and Sam's went Italian. Both teams sucked. The three up for elimination were Michael, Sam, and Cliff. Michael went home.

I was pretty mad that Michael went home instead of Marcel last night. Michael didn't do much, but Marcel served undercooked Chicken! I'd much rather have an olive pit without a place to put it instead of salmonella! Undercooking chicken is a very basic culinary no no and he is supposed to be a professional. I want to find out where we works in Vegas and avoid that place like the plague.

But they likes his veggies.

Last nights episode was very unimpressive...watermelon gnocchi?? Can we say, eww???

Elia still just does not impress me...she made a burger this week...it is not that hard to make a fun new burger, and to not overcook it.

But I would rather have her in the finals than Marcel...the freaky haired punk.

Okay, so I just watched last night's episode on my lunch break, and I have to say that the watermelon gnocchi was possibly the most disgusting thing I've seen so far on the show. Gross.

I laughed SO HARD at Marcel's rap attempt...what a tool!
