I'm determined to find a place that makes good white pizza. This is when I wish that I was on the East Coast.

There is a little italian place near my house that makes the best white pizza. They put alfredo sauce, garlic, ricotta and parmesean cheese and these incredibly yummy strips of marinated grilled chicken.

That's funny, the best pizza that I've ever had was in Jupiter FL. LOL

Speaking of pizza, did anyone watch Throwdown last night? It was a pizza competition and Bobby didn't have a chance.

Ok, I went out and bought all of the ingredients for some of Emerils pizzas...now I just need to make them.

I have a serious addiction to this channel...I might need an intervention. LOL

I rarely get to watch it, I don't have cable/dish and have to try and steal the remote from my boyfriend.

But I watched the italian show the other day...with the pretty girl...cant remember the name. She made a short rib pasta that just looked amazing. It was a long drawn out process...but looked perfect to do on a cold icy weekend. I'm going to have to print out the recipe.

ROFL, everyone gives her a hard time because she is so skinny, but the woman can cook. I've tried a few of her recipes and really enjoyed them.

ROFL, they look huge because she weighs 5 pounds. They showed her Mother on a special with her the other day...they have the same build, so it must be genetics (I hate them!).

THANK YOU, JLJ!!! I've never been able to figure out what to do with the darn short ribs I get everytime we buy half a cow. This recipe sounds good and it's fairly easy too.

Before anyone jumps in and gives me grief about half a cow...up here you can buy the best beef if you know a farmer who raises them. We split a cow with another family about twice a year. You pay a single per pound price no matter what the cut. Not only is it MUCH cheaper, you cannot believe the difference in taste. The only drawback to date had been what to do with the shortribs!

Must be a Wisconsin thing, because we do the same thing with our neighbors....and our friends around the country look at us like we are nuts, if comes up in conversation!

Truff, here is a great super-easy recipe for the short ribs. Adapted from the NY Times cookbook:

Deviled Short Ribs

4 lbs beef short ribs, cut into 3-4 in. pieces...
Mix in a large ziploc:
2 cloves chopped garlic
1/2 onion, chopped
3 heaping tbls coarse mustard
1 tbls sugar
2 tbls good chili powder (NOT powdered chili pepper!)
3 tbls lemon juice
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt

Mix in baggie, place short ribs in bag and seal. Massage the baggie until the meat is thoroughly covered in the marinade, marinate over night.

Preheat oven to 325; place ribs and marinade into a non reactive baking pan, cover with foil and bake for 1 1/2 hours, remove foil and bake for 1 more hour, basting with the pan drippings.

They are absolutely awesome.

You're welcome! Let me know how it turns out if you try it before I do. I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering what to do with the spare ribs from my half of the cow.

While I was looking for Giada's recipe for "Short Ribs with Tagliatelle" I ran across her recipe for "Chicken Tetrazzini". I'm going to have to try it as well.

It's not genetics. I insist that the Food Network does not pay Giada (dubbed 'TSB' by my wife) enough to be able to afford tops that fit....

Anyone catch all of the pizza shows on this weekend? I finally made my white pizza and it came out great.

I watched the one where they were trying to break the records - thought it was a nice change.
How was your white pizza? Oops - I see where you said it was great.
