I'm curious how many of the California bankers are offering remote capture and how well the process has been at your institution...
Thanks in advance for your thoughts

I'm also curious, we are planning to move to remote capture...

I would like to know:

--Check 21 requirements
--Procedural issues
--Equiment costs
--Notice to customers (requirements)
--Pros and Cons

Any input is greatly appreciated......

My FI offers Remote Capture and we have about 130 customers successfully using it. We had many issues that we struggled through, and yes we have a separate agreement with each customer. Currently customer is buying scanner, but I may change that in the near future so the Bank puts in most of the money. Pros - lots if it is an established, high-volume customer. Cons - some if the customer is new and/or has low-volume.

I would expand your question to a general forum as the question is not unique to CA. We offer remote capture- feel free to give me a call at 1-408-556-8376.

Also, an interesting article at:

In case you don't yet have information overload, there is an article in the ABA Bankin Journal. It appears to be a free subscription for the digital version at:
