According to the instructions from FinCEN the search involves records for the past 12 months. Why are requests coming in asking to search several years? Do we go with what the request asks or go by FinCEN instructions?

Go by what the request states BUT I would file a complaint with someone, perhaps the regulatory agencies. These requests are getting out of hand, many of them state to go back to 1994. In only 2 weeks??? Someone needs to help us!
