Absolutely. We were on pins and needles here; it was after 1:00 CST today before one of my co-workers finally heard his son (who lives in the dorm where the first shooting took place) was OK. There are many other families today that have not been so fortunate. How sad for all those wasted lives, including the shooter's.

Add mine. Right now FoxNews seems to have the best ongoing coverage. I'm grateful that my cousin is okay and was away from the buildings involved.

I feel so badly for those poor students - I finally had to turn off the news, it was breaking my heart. I hope that no more lives are lost in the aftermath, I know there are still some in the hospital recovering...

Yesterday was a hard day here in Blacksburg. Just hearing the sirens and watching police and rescue vehicles coming and going was hard and as we heard more and more news over the radios and internet it just seemed so unreal. I pray for the familes who have lost and for the college and community. You truly never think that it can happen in your backyard. As an alumni and a part of the community, I just ask that you continue to pray for and with all of us.

Yes, all of us so close to this tragedy have such a heavy heart, it is just unimaginable. please continue to pray with us for the students, families, staff and the entire community as the mourning continues.

It's so scary to see what one person with a weapon can do in an area that is concentrated with people. Maybe college campuses will now take additional security measures like the high schools did after Columbine. I don't know what it will take, but I hope we don't see anything like this again.
