Land of Steady Habits
As a beer drinker for many years, I was still unaware of how well I've been doing. Luckily this came in today and I feel much better about myself and my ilk.

"A 2006 study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year.
Another study found that Americans drink an average of 22 gallons of beer a year.
That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles per gallon."
Keep up the good work !!!!!!!!!

What is the average cost per gallon or cost per mile? I need to know which to buy this weekend, gas or beer (I want to be cost effective).

There are 10.66 (12 oz) beers per gallon. Assuming an avg. per 6 pack price of $6, that is a buck a beer-$10.66/gal for beer.

Don't forget about the additional "gas" propeltion that the beer will also provide you....you cannot put a price tag on that!

$10.66/gallon - wow! Kinda pricey, but then that's what you pay for being "conservative".

$10.66? Is that 87 grade? Should we expect different performance with different levels? How 'bout this -

regular = Bud = 10.66/gal
super = Sam Adams = 10.71
premium = import = 10.79
and the dirty but cheap diesel = Busch = can't give it away!

Where would micro-brews fall in this spectrum?
