I agree. HOWEVER, we cannot say there MUST BE other life out there either. I'm not saying that there IS no other life out there. I'm saying that the assumption that there is other life out there cannot be made.

when you look at record books, Jordan doesnt hold any

Unless you count that he had the highest scoring average in NBA history, most seasons leading the league in scoring, most playoff points in history, highest playoff scoring average in history, and highest NBA Finals scoring average in history!

There is no statistical evidence to support jordan being the best player of all time. only opinion.

Who is the "best player" is always an opinion, of course. But no statistical evidence????? In addition to all the scoring records above, he was on the all-Defensive team nine times!

so Jordan tied Wilt for the record at 30.1 pts/g fine but that doesnt make him indisputably the best Basketball player ever?

XODUS, perhaps you should read more carefully. Jordan scored a lot more points FOR THE BULLS than Wilt ever did, now didn't he?

Just like you take a question and expand upon it from seeing that we see no signs of creatures in our galaxy and thus say hey, they MUST be somewhere else, when I said Jordan was the greatest player to ever play for the Bulls, you said yeah, but he's vane by saying that because there are other players for other teams from other generations who might be better.

The truth of the matter is, any talk about intelligent life "out there" in other parts of the universe is nothing more than speculation.

I don't know where you get your numbers. Jordan averaged 31.5, Chamberlain is second but far behind at 30.1.

I don't know what criteria YOU use for best player, but Jordan had the highest scoring average ever for all games, for playoff games and for Finals games and in addition was arguably the best defensive player of his time as well with nine all-defensive first team selections.

Here is the NBA webpage devoted to Jordan's honors and records too numerous to mention:

NBA page on Michael Jordan

Jordan was outstanding defensively, but I don't think he was the best of his era. There are other players who were more dominant on the defensive end. I still think he's the best overall though.

so scoring the most makes you the best player? I think being the all around best player would make you the best player. I think too many people have no frame of reference from which to make the conclusion of who is best. If you think Jordan is the best ever fine. I don't think so.

31.5 is reached by adding his playoff points to his regular season numbers and coming to this average. his true regular season average is 30.12.

When did Wilt Chamberlain play for the Bulls? I guess I missed that!

Oh wait, you are STILL trying to take things out of context and propose something totally unrelated to the topic. Kind of like saying that just because we are the most intelligent creatures in our solar system, there must be something else. It does not follow!

according to these stats and your logic Lebron is well on his way to being the best player ever. And in 10 years when Michael Jordan is long forgotten you will have to defend his legacy against somebody who is 8 now and will have never seen him.

are you this big of an imbecile in real life or do you save it for us? I never once said anything like that. But I can see how you would want to change what I said since what you said had no merit.

you asked if Jordan declared himself the best basketball player to ever play for the Bulls if that would be vain. I said yes, I stick to that. Anybody disagree? Other than BF?
