I like Blake but for some reason I picture him as the opening act at a Taylor Hicks concert............

He'd be way cuter if he had an upper lip - but still a cutie

I kind of picture him with a band behind him doing 80s music!

I picture blake as a popular underground singer...
like atmosphere, king tech, or krs1

(yes I know atmophere and krs1 are bands and not singers, but you get what i'm saying...)

ok I guess it's up to America! I would like to see Jordin and Blake as the 2 finalist.

Yes yes Melinda has been consistent every week but she to me is a bit old fashion and while there is nothing wrong with that- I just would listen to Blake and Jordins' music than her. There isn't anything WOW about her either.

Jordin still should win it all.........I do hope Blake makes it tho. Good Luck to All.

It was wrong of Paula to saddle Blake with Roxanne. She put him in an impossible situation. You have only two (bad) choices with that song. You can do it pure, but will never live up to the original. Or you can put a spin on it (which he was smart not to do), but this almost always comes out badly. I've seen lots of performers try this song, and have only seen it pulled off well by Eddie Murphy, sitting in a echo-y jail cell, with a Walkman over his ears!

On another note - there was a sample in the instrumental of Blake's 3rd song and I can't place it. Did anyone recognize that? It's driving me crazy!

Wasn't it Beethoven? It was sampled in a disco song in the 70's too...

Sorry folks, I do not like Blake, never have. He has a thin voice, sings out the side of his mouth, and is a goof. He would not even rise to the level of Taylor Hicks, which isn't saying much.

I would be ok with either Melinda or Jordin winning. If its Blake, then IMHO Idol will have jumped the shark.

Melinda owned the stage last night, and was clearly the best, with Jordan second. Blake was good too, but not quite up to the level of the girls!

I googled it...

The 5th of Beethoven by Walter Murphy was the disco version...

Honestly, I've never been so torn while watching the final three.

Melinda's the best overall, but I think American Idol needs a 'younger' styled singer in order to be properly marketed. I think she'd almost be better off if she didn't win, so that she can gear her first album towards a different type of audience. I think that's her only chance at being truly successful.

I thought Blake really brought his 'A' game last night, but, again, would probably be more successful if he didn't win.

Jordin seems to me to be the only one that the America Idol marketing machine would really work for...

I know Jordin will win. She is young and I believe America wants someone who will make an album and be sucessful- unlike Taylor, Fantasia, and Ruben. Kelly and Carrie have done so well and people know why. Melinda is awesome but will not end up being in the spot light as much as Jordin could. As for Blake- my word for his is interesting. I enjoy some things he has done, but overall not the next American Idol!

Woohoo! Blake and Jordin.

Elliott - I liked his song, he did good.

Melinda - she'll have some deals.

Elliot looked great! Amazing how getting his teeth fixed gives him a whole new look. (not sure I should mention bad teeth around here though...it was a sensitive subject in another thread as I recall).

Anyway, I was a little shocked that Melinda got the boot. Although, when I think about it...she really doesn't have that "total package" that you look for in an American Idol.

I think Jordin will take the prize...but it's gonna be close!

Did anyone else notice how Elliot continuously closed his eyes during the song?? He did it so much, I could not enjoy the song.

Wow - TF, you are REALLY picky!

Perhaps if you had closed your eyes too, it would've been a totally different experience for you!

Absolutely, I noticed!! It was driving me crazy - I also thought his teeth looked too thick - I think the veneers weren't done well. Don't get me wrong, he definitely needed his teeth fixed but I'm not crazy about his dental work. I couldn't enjoy the song either but that's also because I found it too long and boring. It didn't change between the lyrics and the choruses.

I just noticed his eyes being closed because he didn't used to do it.

Maybe his crazy hair was getting in his eyes!
