Does anyone have a fair lending policy they are willing to share?

Yes, and because you include your e-mail in your profile, it is on its way to you.

Feel free to call to discuss it further. Enjoy.

Al,

Would you mind emailing it to me also? Our lack of such a policy was a criticism in our last compliance exam. Lending Dept. has just drafted one and I want to compare.

Thanks in advance.

Another source for policies is the FMS Financial Policies Collection on CD. It was apparently free to members contributing policies. Our CFO has it. It contains one Fair Lending Policy.

Leslie, Did you get some samples of a Fair Lending Policy that you could share with me?

I posted a question regarding self-testing for Fair Lending. Do you do any self-testing prior to bank examinations?

Thanks

Having recently attended an FDIC Compliance seminar, it was mentioned that a Fair Lending Policy should be included in the policies approved by the board. Could you please forward a copy to me and where do I find a cite reference that states a separate policy is required? Thanks

You won't find a cite reference requiring a board-approved fair lending policy because there isn't one. A recommendation that you should have one is different that a requirement that you must have one. I would concur with the recommendation that having a board-approved fair lending policy is certainly a positive step in demonstrating a top-down commitment to fair lending and is a good idea. But still not required.
