We are gathering information to make a proposal for another Compliance/Audit FTE. I'm looking for small bank comparisons, asset size under 1 bill.

My specific questions are:
1. What is your asset size?
2. How many branches do you have?
3. How many FTEs do you currently have dedicated to compliance and audit?
4. Is this number sufficient?

O.K., I know you wanted under a billion, but the numbers being posted are really opening my eyes!

And before you ask, no, it is not working out...

Ditto, except for there is also a separate designated BSA Officer (although the Compliance Officer does most of those activities anyways...)

I will! I'm doing this for him, obviously I guess, if you know Rick and all. Someday maybe he'll learn how to do this himself!

3) 1 Compliance Officer (me) 1 HMDA/CRA (Becca) 1 Internal Auditor that does Comliance review and a slew of BSA Staff.

Up until $500mm, I did all IA and Compliance, including BSA, etc...

Not to hijack your thread but I would like to hear from some of the banks over $1 billion. We are over $1B, have over 60 branches, and I am the only Compliance person (except for one person that handles HMDA) and have somehow become the legal department as well

We have discussed this many times here at BOL - often in the "Audit" forum. If you do an advanced search at Google (search only the domain "bankersonline.com") and use terms such as "compliance" "department" and "size" or other similar terms and you'll find quite a few discussions like this one.
