The new Reg. B is available here for Microsoft Reader.

Now that I no longer have a Palm, I am not sure I can convert the text files to a Palm reader format, but I am working on it.

A Palm version is also available now at the same link above.

Andy, have you tried Acrobat Reader on your PDA for pdf files? I'm wondering how the Federal Register pdf files for proposed and final rules would be in terms of readability on the PDA. Any thoughts?

Some PDF docs look fine and some do not. I have many of our deposit disclosures on there and they wrap well and read fine. I also have some JAG SSCRA PDF files and they do not wrap. I need to go landscape to read them reasonably well. A real pain and scrolling is still needed left and right.

I haven't tried the FR but would consider taking it into Word for ease of use. The formatting may not read well but it is worth an experiment.

Our EVP/CFO just came to our FDIC Compliance Exam exit conference today with his new tablet PC. OK, color me green with envy! It was totally kewl watching him sit there and write notes on that thing. I want one!

Is the handwriting recognition better on the tablet than on the PDA? I am happy with the PDA but heard there were some early issues on the tablet.

Also, the section 103.121 of the CIP is available for the PPC in Reader format. Use the link above.

I converted a text file for the Palm OS as well and just uploaded it. It came out as a .prc file and I can't verify it since I don't have a Palm OS device any longer. There is no formatting to it as there is with the PPC version and there is no index.

If someone wants to look at it and let me know if it works, that would be great.

Andy, you probably already know this, but they have a tool called a Palm Emulator that you can download for your PC. It allows you to create a virtual Palm OS PDA on your PC to test programs like this.

I have POSE but you need the ROM from your Palm OS. While I have my old Handspring there for limited use, it isn't working correctly and I can't load the new files for some reason. I haven't had time to try and troubleshoot it.

I didn't want to start a new thread just for this, but AtiveSync has an upgrade available to 3.7. I haven't loaded it yet, but I haven't heard of problems either.

Andy,

How do you covert normal .doc files to PDA .doc or MS Reader files?

I can tell you about the MS Reader conversion. There is a product (free) that you can download called ReaderWorks that will allow you to convert documents to MS Reader format. There is also a website called eBookExpress that allows you to make the conversion on the fly without any software installation.

Go Patriots!
