wishful thinking ...
I am thinking about testing to become a CIA (Certified Interal Auditor).

Has anyone done this?

Are the exams hard?

Also, does anyone hold the designation of CFSA (Certified Financial Services Auditor) through the IIA?

I think I am up for the challenge, but would just like to talk to some people who have already earned the designation.

Part III seems to be giving me some trouble...I passed I, II, and IV, on the first sitting (had been an auditor less than one year)...part III is another story.

Got my results earlier this month. I passed I, II, and IV on first sitting last year, after 15 years auditing. Passed III on my third try. Used the Gleim books for prep.

It never hurts to have the certification behind you. Looks good on a resume, too.

I hold the certification, but have not kept it active following a job change. I didn't have to take the acct part; but that IT part was hard. The other two, fairly easy.

Has anyone used the CIA Learning System Self-Study Kit that the IIA published?

I sat for the first time last May. I only studied a month for about 2 hrs. a day. I also only stuided for the first 2 parts due to my limited time avaible. I passed those parts and recevied credit for the 4th due to being a CPA. I didn't study for the 3 part but only missed passing by 39 points (you need 600 to get credit)
