Charlie Daniels~The Last Fallen Hero

Oh the cowards came by morning and attacked without a warning
Leaving flames and death and chaos in our streets
In the middle of this fiery [censored] brave heroes fell

In the skies of Pennsylvania on a plane bound for destruction
With the devil and his angels at the wheel
They never reached their target on the ground
Brave heroes brought it down

Chorus:
This is a righteous cause so without doubt or pause
I will do what my country asks of me
Make any sacrifice
We’ll pay whatever price
So the children of tomorrow can be free
Lead on red, white and blue
And we will follow you until we win the final victory
God help us do our best we will not slack or rest
Till the last fallen hero rests in peace

Now the winds of war are blowing and there’s no way of knowing
Where this bloody path we’re traveling will lead
We must follow till the end
Or face it all again

And make no mistake about it, write it, preach it, talk it, shout it
Across the mountains and the deserts and the seas
The blood of innocence and shame
Will not be shed in vain

God help us do our best we will not slack nor rest
Till the last fallen hero rests in peace

My thoughts and prayers are with all of us that were affected and will always be affected by 9/11.
I know that 9/11 has changed all of us.
Thank you to all of those who have loved ones that continue to work day in and day out to keep us safe.
Thank you to all soldiers whose job is to keep us safe.

It seems weird to think that I was a senior in college when everything happened. I had class at 7:30am (central time) that day, and left class after about 20 minutes because I felt incredibly sick (completely out of the ordinary too, I was not out drinking the night before or anything). When I made it home, I just crawled in bed.

I woke up from my alarm at 12, and was shocked to hear the news. I woke up to a different world.

We are a people of infinite spirit. When Americans suffered a staggering blow one year ago today, we reached into the great reservoir of our nation’s soul to gather strength and resolve to move forward despite our fears. Today, we gather to remember the victims, to honor those who exhibited great courage and renew our determination.
 We Stand With Courage united in our resolve to overcome the threat against our nation;
 We Stand With Courage united in our confidence that America’s people and leaders will persevere in defense of freedom and justice for all;
 We Stand With Courage united in our conviction that true freedom is worth the patriot’s price.

Almighty God, the past years will be indelibly inscribed in our memories.

We looked with horror on the terrorist attacks of September 11th.

But we looked with honor on acts of courage by ordinary people who sacrificed themselves to prevent further death and destruction.

We shed our tears in a common bond of grief for those we loved and lost. We journeyed through a dark valley, but your light has led us to a place of hope.

You have turned our grief into determination. We are resolved to do what is good, and right, and just.

Help us to remember what it means to be Americans—a people endowed with abundant blessings.

Help us to cherish the freedoms we enjoy and inspire us to stand with courage, united as one Nation in the midst of any adversity.

Lord, hear this prayer for our Nation. Amen.

I didn't agree with all of it...

But...we do need unity...
I wish we could be one nation again...

Hey Boss, I agree, we do need to be united against the enemy.

And I pray, PRAY that it doesn't take another attack for that to happen.

God Bless America. A day like today will forever conjure up painful images seared into our collective memories. However, the memory of 6 years ago today also carries with it tremendous power, tremendous pride in who we are here in this amazing nation. I remember the way people helped one another, pulled together, stopped their lives to go across the country and help in the rescue and recovery efforts. Ordinary citizens put out their flags and cried when singing the anthem (remember the first baseball game after 9/11?), stopped and thought about what was important, banded together and supported one another. Cried together and mourned our lost.

God bless America, and may God richly bless each and every one of you. Always remember what happened 6 years ago. And always remember that we all have a whole lot more in common as Americans than we have different as political parties or issues.

I will NEVER forget the events of that tragic day. And, I will continue to teach my children the difference between right and wrong, so they won't soon forget either.

I just received an e-mail with some incredible 9-11 photos. I had never seen any of them. If you'd like me to send them on - pm me with your e-mail.

I watched the MSNBC special re-airing 9/11 as it happened. Since I didn't see it as it happened, it was very terrifying to watch. Unbelievable to hear the reactions as things went on - the surprise and shock of the reporters as all the events unfolded infront of everyone's eyes.

The E-4b sightings are pretty much a non-event in my mind... I'd be a whole heck of a lot more worried if this plane wasn't launched and flying over the White House on the day of a major emergency at 10am, a time when we still didn't know exactly what we were dealing with!

There will always be conspiracy theorists; let them rant about this plane. This simply seems like a matter of national security to me, and the less said about this plane to the general public (and those who would do our nation harm), the better.

I did not intend to strike up conspiracy theorists.
I think the E-4B sightings are a testament as to how grave that day was...
