I just remembered a take off on the "It's About Time" theme song that we thought was SOOOO funny when I was in 3rd grade...

It's about time,
It's about space,
It's about time,
to slap your face.

Third grade humor just doesn't translate to adults.

Actually, if we could rework the last line to something about "time to slap you upside the head", I bet it would have widespread application for us adult compliance folks.

Mike Mazurka played one of the cavemen. Anyone know any of the other actors?

Wow! Capt. Kangaroo a marine! I have a friend who was a marine in Viet Nam. He came back a more kinder and gentler person. You get shot at and it changes your whole perspective of the world...But I don't have to tell you Vets that which you already know!

Anyone remember "Battle Star Galactica" or "Buck Rogers"?

Battlestar Galatica was the best. I was in love with Richard Hatch. Had a huge poster of him next to Shaun Cassidy (Hardy Boys) and Starsky & Hutch (another classic). Wasn't it Dirk Benedict that played his sidekick and later starred in the infamous "A-Team"? I seem to remember one of the alien robots appearing the opening of the show.

Veeerrryy Interesting! I know someone used to say that on 'Laugh In', with an accent. Can't remember who.
Too Bad though, I really liked that story. I guess it was to perfect, being Captain Kangaroo and a war hero too. However, the Captain is a hero to millions of children in his own right.

that would be Arte Johnson. In later years, I realized that the staff poet "Henry Gibson" could be a play on Henrik Ibsen. (About the same time I realized that "Lestoil" meant "Less Toil")

Arte Johnson, who was at one time married to Texie Waterman, who, in the 70's, was the dance instructor of the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. I am not sure if she was the first wife or the first dance instructor.

Bonnie...yup you got us beat! I thought of a few Bonnie lies over the rhymes myself when you posted that heh heh.

Wanna guess how many freaking Dawn dolls I was given between the age of 6 and 16? Everyone thought it was sooo cute! I started lopping off their hair at about doll number six...then we used them in the garden to mark the vegie rows (LOL really!) Those poor dolls went through heck...and I haven't ONE Of the stupid things left.

I suppose I should have kept one....NO I DON"T WANT ONE FOR MY BIRTHDAY LOL

Hey, can you introduce me to Tony Orlando?

(I'm sure you've never gotten that one either.)

I always wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy's cheerleader when I was little. Being born in Ft. Worth it was only natural. How on earth did I end up in a bank?

Darkness on the Edge of Town
This keeps on going--- I had to add lyrics to this discussion.

Lives on the line where dreams are found and lost
I'll be there on time and I'll pay the cost
For wanting things that can only be found
In the darkness on the edge of town. - Bruce Springsteen

Did you picture yourself in the place of Andy's next door neighbor in the first Toy Story movie? Can't think of that kid's name at the moment.

It dawned on me at lunch that today is not Friday, it has been feeling like Friday all day; especially since we have 2 Frivolity threads going like crazy.

Dawn--just couldn't resist, one more time

Nanwa, don't forget this Springsteen classic:

ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT)
Spread out now Rosie, doctor come cut loose her mama's reins
You know playin' blindman's bluff is a little baby's game
You pick up Little Dynamite, I'm gonna pick up Little Gun
And together we're gonna go out tonight and make that highway run
You don't have to call me lieutenant Rosie and I don't want to be your son
The only lover I'm ever gonna need's your soft sweet little girl's tongue Rosie you're the one
Dynamite's in the belfry playin' with the bats
Little Gun's downtown in front of Woolworth's tryin' out his attitude on all the cats
Papa's on the corner waitin' for the bus
Mama she's home in the window waitin' up for us
She'll be there in that chair when they wrestle her upstairs
`Cause you know we ain't gonna come
I ain't here for business
I'm only here for fun
And Rosie you're the one
(CHORUS)
Rosalita jump a little lighter
SeƱorita come sit by my fire
I just want to be your love, ain't no lie
Rosalita you're my stone desire

I think I always had more hair than Sid. Seriously though, I was a mean little kid. I had two older brothers that taught me well.

I did see a bit of myself in Sid but I didn't steal other kids' toys, I only blew up my own.

I would have been stunted for life if I'd have seen that. Can you imagine the destructive fun I'd have missed! (I did do the fireworks...but didn't want to tell cuz I thought you'd all think I was nutso...we also chopped off limbs playing army surgeon, umm and it went on from there).

Tony never calls any more Zab

Nothing ever "Dawns" on me LOL and...can ya guess what time I was born at?

NO NOT DAWN! LOL but every one thinks so.

Delta Dawn. Yip! I sang that in a grammer school talent show once. I can't believe I ever liked it.
