dreaming of a warm beach......
I just finished reading Sunshine by Norma Klein. I read it when I was about 14 years old and I sure had a different perspective on the book now as an adult. And I cried at the end again.

It actually sounds like something I would enjoy, I really like Romeo and Juliet type love stories and really liked Ann Rice's vampire stuff.

I'll have to pick one up, I just finished reading Never Have Your Dog Stuffed by Alan Alda and have The Alchemist on the night stand ready to start.

I've read everything of Anne Rice's up through Violin (I put that down after the first 3 chapters and haven't picked anything of hers up since) - and I think I like these vampires better. They're both more wonderful and more tragic at the same time.

ETA: make sure you read them in order or the storyline won't flow.

I've now read all 3 inside of 4 days (at roughly 600 pages each). I can't get enough! I've been on her website reading the outtakes, etc. and started the first book over again last night. I think this is getting to the point of being unhealthy. I can't believe I'm saying (writing) this, but I honestly am more sucked into these than I was to Harry Potter!

Reading "Saving Graces" by Elizabeth Edwards. It is a 12 CD audiobook and at least 3 of the first six were about the death of their son Wade. (I'm on CD 7.) She is an excellent writer.

Her full out honesty about coping with Wade's death and their grief is powerful. It would be very hard to listen to if you have lost a child, but I imagine very comforting too. She does not hesitate to share the good, the bad and the ugly side of her journey.

nUnZeO--On your recommendation, I read True Evil by Greg Iles over the week-end. The premise is unnerving--to say the least. I thought it was a good read, because I could not figure out how the story was going to end.

Has anyone read or listed to the "In Death" series by J.D. Robb? I really enjoy those books, specially on audio books.

I have read all the Plum stories by Evanovich and several of her other stories. Sometimes her stories make me laugh so hard I can't see the page.

I just started Eragon on Sunday. I loved the movie and did not realize there was a series of books, until recently. I hope the author finishes the last one by the time I am through the others.

It is an interesting story about artistic inspiration and love, its demands, pleasures, and problems. Rather unique.

I have the entires series in book form. I love them, I normally don't care for sci fi type of stuff, but these are great. It is fun to reread them begining to end

I recently read the Saxon series by Bernard Cornwell. In fact, I think he was recommended on another BOL thread I read about year ago. I also loved Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett.
I checked the library to see if they had the Plum series and they have a few (live in a small town). Is it best to start with #1 book in that series?

I read the Stephanie Plum series in order and I would personally recommend that route. I do know a couple of people that read them out of order and said it didn't bother them but to me, each one builds on the previous. I ended up purchasing the complete series (1-13)on eBay.

I am reading James Pattersons - You've been warned. Easy light read. Nothing spectacular compared to his Cross books.

I want to read Stephen King's The Cell, but I was dissapointed with Liseys Story, I am not sure I want to get it.

Just finished "The Ignored" by Bentley Little. I would not recommend it. Very slow start and not a satisfying finish.

Trying to work on "Nightfall", an Issac Asimov book with a co-writer, which has a promising start, but my schedule hasn't allowed me the time to continue it.

And MOML has a book called "Come and Get It" by Edna Ferber. He wants me to read it quick, so he can get it back to her by our next visit. He says it references alot of the area where he grew up.
