I'm avoiding writing my assistant's review. Ya it's definately goober! Then I leave early to wire the kitchen (lets see if I get electrocuted?) and tile a floor. Wanna trade goober?

Well I did 2 reviews today and am going home to do some landscaping, so no, you keep your goober and I'll keep my goober - I'm much better with with a shovel, rake, grass seed, top soil, hedger, blower and a lawn mower than with electricity!

I am sooo lost! I thought "goober" was a noun used to refer to a person that was one curler short of a hairdo. What does it mean to "trade goober"?
I'm game for anything once -- except for that wiring the kitchen stuff, and about 100 other things that immediately come to mind. Okay, well, maybe I'm not so game after all.

MB - I don't even pretend to speak Dawniese. To me, goober was always either a spitball or the guy who worked at the gas station on Andy Griffith. But i have a feeling that when Alaskan Dawn wants to trade goobers, then you better trade goobers!

LOL You guys slay me! Goober (in a work related way) is the "stuff" you don't want to do that's piled on the left hand and right hand side of your desk. Theres another pile in the drawer behind you. Anyone else have goober? Wiring is easy if you remember to cut the power at the breaker. After all...worse thing that can happen is a little fire No plumbing...I don't do plumbing! Water makes such a mess!

Dawnie - your description of "goober" while a painfull reminder of what MY desk looks like, also reminds me of a cartoon I saw awhile ago.
The cartoon showed an overflowing "In" box stacked high with memos. There was a scale drawn next to the stack, similar to a map legend or time scale.
The top tier of the paper stack was labled "Recent Memos"
Then there was "Older Memos"
Then there was "Ancient Memos"
The next layer was "Memozoic"
The final layer was labled "coal."
I used to have that pinned on my cubie wall. An old boss I had, however, failed to see the humor....

My office is gooberless. A. I try to touch each piece of paper only once (pick it up, deal with it, dispose of it) if at all possible. B. I clear my desk and credenza completely every night (information security protocol, don't ya know), so the less I have to clear, the easier it is to clear it. Yes, I know, I'm boring. Everyone tells me that. But I'm clean and drug-free, too.

From another sign I saw: A cluttered desk is a sign of genius. I've also heard the saying "A clean desk is the sign of a sick mind." Hey - I didn't make that up...I'm just sayin'....

Stephen, I've heard of people like you, but I never knew they really existed. I've heard the "clean desk...sick mind" bit before too.
Let's just say my mind is very healthy.

Mine, on the other hand, is more like a goober factory, a goober breeding ground.
Stephen, how long did it take you to get to that point, or is that just your natural style. In other words, is there hope for those of us dwelling in Gooberland???

I taught a class for ABA (or is that CIP or some other initials) this winter. My office is in the corner of the building, right next to the conference room...with windows everywhere! I had to teach that danged "touch it once" organization skill. I sure sounded convincing...but frankly...I think it's crap Well for me anyhoo. I don't have projects I can touch once and finish, nor do I have the ability to block out the world until I get that one thing done...hence goober land. (Plus it would cut into my wine tastings....)

If it does, please share explicit instructions for how those piles were made. You can send them along with details about how your brother made a radio from a potato.
